Three things

1. I came home to find the front door wide open and my flat mate in her room.
2. The house still smells of my flatmate's feet (perhaps this is why the door was wide open?)
3. Still hadn't cleaned up her shit from the weekend.

Ouch! So has she ever improved, like learned something if she didn't get it before. Has she ever stopped doing any of these things? If not she must Truly Be Unteachable!

Maybe you could do what I do when my housemate does not clean up his stuff in a timely manner- take it all up in a garbage bag, hide it and tell her you figured she didn't want it any more so you threw it out or gave it away. If you say that you gave it away you can always "get it back" for them when they repent.

A friend told me that this site was getting pretty famous but I don't think I realised how much until I checked it out today!

Love it, believe it, and will be back as much as I can. Hope you're doing well over there mate (gross flattie, and miserable cold weather notwithstanding!)

That might be the most disgusting behaviour I have read (on the part of your flatmate) yet.

I just started reading your blog a little while ago and after reading your history I've decided that your flatmate and my roommate need to live together in a pigsty.. I don't understand where people like this come from.. We have all talked to the "problem roommate" but she doesn't understand anything.... Then she proceeds to say "I'm perfect.. I don't ever do anything wrong" and she truly believes it.. It's quite infuriating.

Have you ever found a used condom in the kitchen sink? I had a roommate that would bring home dudes she met in bars. Very unsafe. The whole dirty condom thing disgusted me. I couldn't believe it.

If only.....he's now my brother-

Reading through your website I was reminded of my gruelling college days. Needless to say, I sympathise completely. However, one thing I can tell you for sure is... your roommate will never improve. And until you decide to ditch her unhealthy lifestyle by moving out yourself, this shall remain a never ending war of wills.

Man, I wish I had made a blog to post things my roommates did!

Since she left the front door wide open you could always kill two birds with one stone- throw her stuff out and tell her it must have been stolen.

Have a serious talk with her about leaving the door open and explain to her that you have no desire to end up dead because of her being absent minded and buy her some odor eaters for the stinky feet syndrome.

Reminds me of my friend's dorm room in college...he cleaned it out once a semester with a shovel...seriously. He and his roommate always left the window open. The stench would have been unbearable otherwise.

And that's why I didn't clean up my shit from the weekend - I've spread out the things in the lounge to air them out coz they smell so bad coz of you throwing yor socks on everything I own.

Plan of action:
1. Confront roomie about her evident lack of socially appropriate behavior.
2. Arrange for a nanny to teach her what her parents clearly missed.
3. Set up hidden camera, tape roomie, send in to every TV show that takes the tapes and make money off her disgusting-ness.
4. Above all, continue to post daily annoyances. It's healthy for you, and funny for the rest of us! (think of it as a public service & free therapy.)

peace

(1) Spring-load your door so it hits her in the ass on her way in. That way, your door is closed and she's been spanked.

(2) Sprinkle foot powder in her shoes when she's sleeping or extract the awful smell from her shoes and mix it with her perfume.

(3) When I was young, my mother used to throw my shit outside, so I would come home to a pile of clothes and miscellaneous nonsense on the sidewalk for all to see.

Great blog. Reminds me of my early bachelor days and first job. And some roommates can be painful.... I once had one roommate who was an aspiring actor and he would practice his dailogue delivery from 1 am in the night .... luckily i changed the place in 3 months.

I have a as my Flatmate. He watches TV in the night till 3.00 am, sleeps without switching off the light, smokes like his beloved just passed away, wakes up in 9:00 AM next morning goes to office late & comes home and says his manager scolded him for being late. And starts the same thing again.

I know I should kick him, but i am wondering where!!
