I was a faithful reader way back when you first started the blog, and just today did I discover that you had started posting again. I have spent the majority of my work day reading and getting caught up (it took awhile because I was in fact attempting to do some real work as I am a gainfully employed legal executive, unlike your ex-coke snorting flatmate).

I must say I was quite overjoyed to see you writing again. I'm sorry to hear about you getting the boot from your flat, but I'm quite happy to see that you've apparently moved into nicer climates. Wishing you all the luck with the new flatmates, but selfishly hoping that they suck too so you have more fodder for posting!! Keep up the amusing stories!

Hi,

Well now that the dust has settled maybe you will be happier in
the new place. You mention the IT consultant gets a decent
income so maybe you shouldn't worry about a few beers, there
could be times when you run out too.

I can assure you there was no conspiracy associated with my
previous post, it was written mainly in jest only cos you hadn't
posted for quite a while.
It was a fair guess that the landlord would be back to check up,
the comment about being made to pay for cleaning and painting
was just a guess, but the bit about having no where to live was
only wild speculation, i am sorry that came to pass.

There is no way i could have surmised the place would be sold.

As to the deductions from your 'bond', i would guess the same
would be taken from your previous flatmates bond, so at least
she has been inconvenienced too.

And she hasn't just had a nice break.

From what you post, she isn't there any more, she was caught
smoking maybe she was told to leave straight off, you at have
a fortnight to sort things out.

And your Spathy-plant is still surviving. Maybe a change of
potting soil would help it along, try to pick out what you can
from the root ball before it putting into the fresh potting
compound. Sometimes stuff gets spilt into the pot, and the only
way to clear it is to change the soil.

You say you were feeling quite dejected, looking at your pile
of possessions, and facing the prospect of flat hunting again.
Now you say you're sharing a great place near the river, filled
with happy shiny toys. With an air of optimism and glee.
